Introduction:
A
proximity sensor is a device that able to detect the presence of any kind
of
object near its radiation area. Proximity sensor emits an electromagnetic
radiation,
when any object overlap onto its radiation area sensor gets a return
signal and
start working. Earlier, IR-based proximity sensors were used in
mobile phone to
detect the presence of a human ear. But now capacitive
proximity sensing
technology replaced every IR sensor in the mobile phone
market.

Measurement:
Call
from your Proximity Sensor enable smart phone to someone. Now take
a flash
light or torch light then turn on this light and directed to sensor. If LCD
backlight is turn off then Proximity Sensor is good. Whereas If LCD backlight
is not turn off then Proximity Sensor is faulty.
Problem:
LCD
backlight will not turn off when you calling someone.
Solution:
1. Check Touch Panel is attached
correctly to front part. If not then attach properly.
2. Change
Proximity Sensor.
